Holly Yager is a reproductive health & fertility counsellor offering virtual/video sessions to clients in British Columbia.

Holly Yager (she/her) has 20+ years experience providing therapy and support for concerns related to infertility & fertility, third-party reproduction, pregnancy loss, perinatal mental health, and female pelvic pain.

Since 2001, Holly has worked as a reproductive & sexual health counsellor. She started at a variety of women’s clinics in Vancouver, and completed an internship at the BC Reproductive Mental Health program.

Since 2004, Holly began working as a clinical counsellor in reproductive & sexual health at BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre (BCWH). She has been fortunate to gain extensive experience in the departments of:  reproductive endocrinology & infertility (REI/IVF), recurrent pregnancy loss & early pregnancy loss (RPL/EPAC), elective cesarean clinic (formerly Choices in Childbirth), and specialized women’s health (CARE).

During her time at BCWH, Holly was the in-house counsellor at BC’s only publicly funded fertility clinic, the former Centre for Reproductive Health (UBC IVF). She then became a member of the team to launch Canada’s first interdisciplinary Centre for Chronic Pelvic Pain & Endometriosis (CPP).

In 2018, Holly made the decision to focus primarily on private practice, while still working occasionally at BCWH. In 2007, she started her practice, Reproductive Health & Fertility Counselling (formerly Well Woman Counselling).

In her practice, Holly provides therapy to individuals and couples, facilitates group workshops and presentations, provides professional consultation, and is active on several committees. She has also co-authored publications on both fertility and chronic pelvic pain.

Holly has a master’s degree in counselling psychology from UBC. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling & Psychotherapy Association. Holly is an active member in the Canadian Fertility & Andrology Society and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. Membership in the above organizations requires ongoing professional development and an adherence to professional ethics and standards of practice.

In March 2020, Holly made the decision to work virtually, offering counselling sessions by video. Due to positive feedback, she intends to continue video counselling indefinitely. Doing so allows clients more accessibility and comfort during their sessions. It also allows Holly the opportunity to share her time between Vancouver and Kelowna (the unceded and traditional lands of the Coast Salish and Syilx/Okanagan Peoples).
